Creating wounds using moulds...

Creating wounds using moulds...
  • You can use gelatine or latex in the make-up moulds (Available from Charles Fox or PAM.)
  • You can rub Vaseline on the mould to stop it from sticking.
  • Use a lot of powder to remove the mold from its case. Ensure there's a lot of powder surrounding it then slowly start to push the impression with a small pin. Be gentle so the moulds aren't broken or torn.
  • If you choose to use gelatine in your mould then you can leave it to set in the fridge to speed up the drying process.
  • To colour the mould a tiny bit of supra colour can be added to change its colour.
  • These types of impressions are brilliant for continuity as 100's can be made. (e.g) They could be used on extras all seen with the same bullets wounds etc.
  • You can also melt away the edges of the gelatine using warm water but if you use to choose latex use plain acetone.

Applying the mould...
  • Apply the mold to grease free, clean skin. Use a toner on the skin before application.
  • Gently press it onto the skin using matte spirit gum to avoid a bad effect seen under the studio lights. Add more gelatine around the mould again.
  • Then add supra colours on top and around to create a more effective wound.
